The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Alsip, Illinois is accepting applications for the position of entry level police officers with the Alsip Police Department. There are currently five immediate vacancies for police department employment.

Salary: $72,009.60 (Starting) – $103,417.60 (after 5 years)

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the Village of Alsip: 

• U.S. Citizenship; 
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and qualify for an Illinois driver’s license at time of hire; 
• Minimum of 20 years of age -AND- UNDER 35 years of age at the time at time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt by State statute 65ILCS 5/10-2.1-6(d) which provides in part that the age limitation does not apply to a person previously employed as a Certified (full-time) Law Enforcement Officer in a municipality in the United States; 
• Applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old to be hired as a police officer;
• High school graduate -OR- GED equivalent;
• Must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at an accredited college, university or junior college (official transcripts will be required at the background investigation stage);
• Applicants with military experience must submit a DD-214 indicating status of discharge with application;
• Acquire Illinois residency within 18-month probationary period;
• Must possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. Test card issued no more than 12 months prior to the written exam date (March 11, 2023); P.O.W.E.R. Test Cards issued by NIPSTA, Triton College, or Joliet Junior College will be accepted.
• Pay a $30.00 non-refundable application processing fee.
