Citizen Police Academy
- What is it?
- The Citizens’ Police Academy is for Alsip Residents, 21 years or older, who are interested in learning more about how their police department operates and the policing challenges facing the Village of Alsip. Over a 10 week period, participants will learn about different aspects of the police department.
- Who instructs the Academy?
- The instructors of the Academy are Alsip Police Administration, Alsip Police Officers, and other guests who are professionals in the field of Law Enforcement.
- What is the purpose of the Academy?
- The purpose of the Citizens’ Police Academy is to educate citizens about the operations of the Alsip Police Department. The goal is to create a growing pool of responsible, well informed citizens who have the potential of influencing public opinion about police practices and services. Citizens will gain an understanding of the problems and challenges facing law enforcement and will have an opportunity to offer comments and ideas regarding solutions.
